...to As One Voice: a project aimed at beginning
an annual worship service
that can bring together every church and every
believer, across the entire world!
The Body of Christ is spread all across the world, separated by oceans,
mountains and more miles than we could begin to count. Not only
that,
but those of us who believe can allow our opinions and differences to
divide
us keep us from being the large, world-wide family we are supposed to
be.
Just imagine if we could come together, for just a little while each
year, and
truly stand united in our praise of our Lord and Savior.
By joining together,
and lifting our voices as one,
we can sing out the
loudest testimony to Christ that has ever been
heard. If we could truly,
even if for only minutes,
unite the Body of Christ in praise, there is no
knowing what we can
accomplish!
The initial idea for this project came as I was driving home from work, listening to
KLOVE. The Newsboys' song He Reigns came on, and I was just
floored by the
feeling that I drew from it. I had heard the song many times, and knew most of
the words, but
had never really taken it all in. The whole song is about the Body
of Christ
singing together, raising our voices, and being so very loud when united
that the powers of darkness have no hope of drowning us out. Not
only that, those
powers tremble at the sound. That was the first time I had ever
realized something:
at
that very moment, I was a part of it. While I sang, I was singing
along with
hundreds or thousands of fellow believers scattered across the country,
and
the world. Singing the same song, with the same voice. The
realization filled
me with a new strength, one that I was able to draw from that unity.
Our praises have that power.
If you have ever sung along with the radio,
you have already been part
of this.
Maybe you were as unaware of it as I
was. I promise you, if you
can take hold of
that feeling, and focus on it every
time you sing along with the radio,
you will find yourself energized, strengthened,
and lifted up. By
coming together in worship,
and knowing our praises are
joined with that many people, we can connect
with
our Lord in an amazing way.
After all, isn't that what praise is all about? And just think, if
every person
listening to that song was as focused as you, and became a conscious
part of
that incredibly widespread gathering of believers, adding their praises
to ours, we
could shake the very foundations of this world. We all know that
Christ reaches to
us as we reach to Him. Let's join the Body together, and reach up
to Him as
one, and just see how He touches us.
